SCLARC VAC Participant Recognition Awards

SCLARC VAC hosted their third annual participant recognition awards ceremony at the Radisson Hotel in Los Angeles, CA on November 2013. The room was filled with many program providers and program participants. Each table received a packet with a program provider’s nomination letter about their program participant. All of the nomination letters in the packet were pleasant and meaningful to read. Franco, one of PALS program participants, was nominated by PALS Downey, for this awards ceremony. Our Downey team wrote a heart-warming nomination letter about Franco. In this letter the Downey team noted the progress Franco has made. He started our program in September of 2012 after exiting a correctional facility. Being in PALS he has been able to overcome his struggles with the help of the PALS team. Franco participates in vocational training, job site placement, and character building. It has been a long road, but PALS stayed strongly committed in helping Franco. Perla, Program Director of Downey, said, “He [Franco] strives to utilize PALS as a stepping stone to seek greater independence.” This is what we do to help people to achieve their goals despite their limitations.  Our PALS team is extremely proud that Franco received a beautiful award with his name on it from SCLARC Vendor Advisory Committee. Congratulations Franco, on your great achievements and we hope to continue to help assist you in achieving future aspirations.
